Working with Satellite Data? Let’s talk.
I’m writing a hands-on book for ML folks getting into remote sensing.
This might seem a bit random, but I started writing a book about Machine Learning for Remote Sensing 😂.
While seemingly everyone on LinkedIn is talking about LLMs, I’m more excited by the fact that we have over 10,000 satellites orbiting Earth, many observing our planet. Remote sensing allows us to predict wildfires, understand planetary changes, estimate biomass, and much more. To make sense of this data, machine learning, especially deep learning, is the perfect tool.
Interestingly, I couldn’t find a book I liked on ML for remote sensing, so I decided to write one. Anyways, writing books has become my favorite way to learn new things, like conformal prediction.
Goal: I want Machine Learning for Remote Sensing to become the best online resource for ML people who want to get into satellite data. I want it to be very pragmatic, with lots of code examples. The first use case, and currently the only chapter, is about predicting wildfire spread.

If you're interested, check it out and sign up for updates. This helps me find out whether it’s worth publishing more chapters beyond the ones I personally want to write.
Also, if you work with remote sensing or want to get started, feel free to reach out. I’d love to hear what you’re struggling with or what topics would be useful to include.
